 I recently tried the Massel range of stock powder. I tried the 'Chicken Style Stock'  and it was really nice!! I still can't figure how they managed to make it taste so good and taste like stock. All of them are vegetarian and contain:

  • No Animal content
  • 99% Fat Free
  • No added enhancers (ie msg)
  • Gluten Free
  • Lactose free

    They also have a range of gravy mixes (which of course I HAD to get!) however I am yet to try it.

    I got them from a cafe/deli in Whangaparoa called Gusto but I'm sure you can get them at other places *hopes*

    Anyways... just thought I'd share!

    Easter cravings?!

    My tip for the Easter break to combat those chocolate cravings is to pop down to Lush and pick up some of their Chocolate WhipStick Lip Balm. Not only is this great for your lips it satisfies those chocolate cravings without the need pig out on Easter eggs!

    -I also find this same product helpful on a day to day basis as we have a cookie jar on our staff room. Whenever I want one I (try) instead to put on my yummy chocolate lip balm and have a glass of water. A LOT better for you! Admittedly this is not 100% foolproof, but even if it only works some of the time it still cuts down my cookie consumption dramatically! 

    Best Iron Supplements EVER!

    BEST EVER iron suplements are 'Iron Melts' they also contain Folic Acid, Vitamins B12 and C !! Brilliant!
     
    Be warned though, they taste like berry sherbert so you'll wanna eat the whole lot at once! Use it as a special treat each day or something instead of chocolate, hahaha, ok who am I kidding! Seriously though they are good!!

    Recipes!!!

    Two really yum receipes that my mum made when I was last in Tauranga!! SO GOOD!

    Vege Bahjees
    -----------------------
    2 cups Pea Flour (get from Indian shop or bulk food place – can’t seem to get it from the supermarket)
    1 tsp chilli powder
    1 tsp cumin powder
    2 tsp turmeric
    1 tsp hot curry powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp dry garlic flakes
    In a mortar coarsely grind 1 tsp of each of the following - mustard seed, fennel seed, cumin seed, coriander seed
    2 large or 5 small courgettes (this can be replaced with finely sliced silverbeet or a mixture of both)
    1 large onion finely sliced
    1 finely chopped fresh chilli
    1 cup of freshly chopped coriander

    Mix all of the above in a bowl – keep mixing until all veges are covered with flour, if the mixture appears to be a little dry add a small amount of cold water but you want the mixture to be very thick.

    Either deep fry or fry like fritters in a pan.


    Potato Thingies
    --------------------------
    Slice courgettes lengthwise – over lap then from the centre of a small pie or quiche dish in a circular pattern, long end hanging over the dish edge.
    Filling
    Crush boiled potatoes (not mashed) and add whatever flavour you want i.e. garlic, finely chopped mushrooms, thyme or finely chopped tomato, horse radish, mustard & cheese

    If anyone is like me when they get sick or visit the doctor they wanna know more info and look online... it's hard to tell what is accurate and what BS though!

    This site is a NZ site and is great to search on a really wide range of helth related questions and ailements. It even has some questionaires and calculators so you can check your knowledge on a  lot of things. 

    One especially useful function is being able to search OTC (Over The Counter) medicines for directions and side effecte etc (GREAT if you have lots the packets and just have the blisters of pills!)

    Anyway, have a play, I found it really interesting :)
